Ring sizing at home: our top tips

Measuring your ring size at home can be a great way to find the perfect size, giving you all the confidence you need before you head into store or purchase your dream ring online. In the past, methods have included using a piece of string to measure your or your partner's finger all the way through to guessing the size from eye.

Our downloadable size chart contains two of the most highly accurate home measurement methods. Before we get into those, however, there are some things you might need to consider before measuring your ring finger at home...

1. Your fingers can change size over the course of the day. If you're warm, your fingers will likely be larger than they might be on a cold day. Try and do any home measuring when you're relaxed and your fingers are neither too warm nor too cold.

2. Also worth remembering is that your dominant hand and fingers will likely be slightly larger than your other hand. When it comes to measuring the chosen finger, ensure you are measuring using the hand you intend to wear the ring on.

3. For the best results, it's a good idea to measure your chosen finger 3 or 4 times at various points in the day and take the average measurement as your true size. This will help ensure that your size is more accurate.

With the above tips in mind, it's now time to get measuring. Simply download our handy Ring Size Guide and print at home. Our size guide contains two of the most accurate measuring methods, just be sure to keep the above tips in mind when you get measuring!
