A story of sumptuousness
The magic behind the jewels can be traced back to the 15th century in Persia – now known as modern-day Iran and Iraq. The Persian Empire was renowned for its rich culture and opulent produce such as its world-famous rugs that would easily become the centrepiece attraction of any home. Le Vian’s diamonds follow a similar vein in that they were destined to become the focal point of even the most dazzling of ensembles.
A family-owned company, Le Vian acquired such a prestigious reputation that in 1746, it was selected to safeguard the collection of jewels owned by Nadir Shah – one of Persia’s most powerful rulers.
Diamonds for all
Though they may still consider themselves the ‘guardians of the jewels’, Le Vian is driven by the ambition to make its decadent diamonds accessible to all.
An example of this is how Le Vian sources gems that are available during the peak of its production in a particular mine, while still under-priced. The brand then incorporates these gems into beautiful pieces, preserving them as quality jewellery that is more readily affordable due to the gems being less appreciated by collectors. Later, as the mine runs out and the supply of the gems becomes limited, the value of the jewellery rises, giving early buyers a significant gain in value.
